The importance of fresh and unpolluted water near the bees has been widely misunderstood among the beekeeping community today.
Under normal conditions a productive-size colony (around 60.000 bees) needs nearly 2 liters of water every day for cooling, feeding, diluting and maintaining the right level of humidity inside the hive for good larvae growth.
It takes around a thousand bees to participate and carry this load. By obtaining clean water nearby, the colonies use up less precious re sources from the hive.
Secure your apiary’s hygiene! Puddles in orchards usually contain spray residues and are frequented by bees if there are no alternatives!
