In this cage, we place the queen without severing it from the beehive because the area is large enough and the bees’ access to the queen is very easy, so the swarm does not have the sense of orphanage. The Queen’s caging lasts for 22 days to properly free the beehive from the pronymps and make a more effective cure from varroa.
Usage: We open the small window to place the queen, and then close the door. Because there will be many bees inside it at the end of the treatment, there is a larger door at the top that is removed so we can shake the bees in the hive with the queen included, easy and quickly.
